Biography
Sandra M. Bonito is a woman of multiple talents and passions, whose journey is characterized by continuous evolution, creativity, and learning.
Born in Lisbon in September 1975, she grew up in São João da Talha, on the outskirts of the city. Coming from a humble family, Sandra displayed a dreamy, curious spirit from an early age, with a deep passion for art, poetry, and knowledge. Even as a child, she loved painting, writing poems, and sharing her creations with family and friends, practices that would shape her identity throughout her life.
At 18, she began her career in cosmetics and perfumery, a field in which she worked for 11 years. However, she never ceased to nurture her artistic passions, hosting her first painting exhibition at the age of 19. Despite its deep personal satisfaction, art did not provide financial stability, prompting Sandra to maintain writing as an intimate and creative outlet.
With boundless energy and enthusiasm, Sandra discovered her true calling in the field of fitness and well-being. She worked in one of Lisbon’s largest health clubs, specializing in Pilates, functional training, sports nutrition, and coaching special populations. Her dedication and empathy distinguished her as a leader, trainer, and inspirational figure among colleagues and students, affectionately recognized as a genuine fitness "guru."
At the age of 30, demonstrating great determination, she completed her degree in Human Movement, balancing her studies with her professional life. Her passion for understanding the workings of the body and mind drove her to further specialize in psychomotricity, clinical massage therapy, naturopathy, and herbal medicine, increasingly integrating natural and holistic approaches into her practice.
This integrative vision culminated in the creation of "Holistic Belt," an innovative therapeutic training method, accessible and adapted to people’s real needs. Subsequently, she developed "Holistic Belt Kids," specifically designed for children aged 6 to 12.
In 2018, Sandra decided to close her physical space to explore new areas, including natural therapies, working with individuals with reduced mobility or specific health conditions, and developing children-focused projects, a passion solidified by her realization of the importance of promoting health and well-being from childhood in playful and educational ways.
Motherhood arrived at the age of 45 with the birth of her daughter, a moment Sandra describes as the happiest of her life. This new phase provided even more motivation to create content positively impacting current and future generations.
In 2024, she published the book "Ginásio de Bolso – Conselhos de Algibeira" (Pocket Gym – Handy Advice), compiling practical health and well-being tips based on the questions and concerns of her students and patients. The following year, she published her first children's book, "À Procura do Dó" (Searching for C), an original story in musical poem format that playfully and educationally celebrates the world of music.
In addition to books, Sandra has developed audiobooks and ebooks based on original stories, many accompanied by songs for which she writes both lyrics and music, with assistance from artificial intelligence. These works aim to enchant children and provoke reflection in adults, creating complete sensory experiences where body, mind, and imagination come together.
Exploring new movement methodologies, Sandra has also incorporated Animal Flow into her practice, a training system combining quadrupedal movements, enhancing mobility, strength, and body awareness, among other benefits. She is currently introducing this methodology into schools to foster early physiological development in children.
Today, Sandra continues to practice as a therapist, trainer, and coach, while simultaneously developing new training programs and editorial projects. Her mission remains clear: to inspire, educate, and transform people's lives through knowledge, empathy, and creativity.
For Sandra, living purposefully is a continuous exercise.
As she often says:
"Despite life's adversities, we must never give up.
We should pursue our dreams and desires,
knowing that only we can change our own story."
